In your first image of the split I think it is actually kind of a pop – cultural refferential place. Let me explain. Although this isn’t my forte I seem to remember mtv’s 1st real world euro episode when Lars rented a lamborghenni (sp?)to impress his latest hearthrob, some African-euro lady… as it turns out he didn’t know how to drive a stick. He would have seemed to have crashed in that very street split. I found the image to (calmly) represent the irony of agony. It may have been a similar looking bridge approach split. I was younger then and the idea of driving a clutch in London during traffic with such a hot babe really was mind boggling at the time. thanx 4 the memories.
I have a bfa and post bac in photo and like to share stories. I’m working on my ma urban studies thesis on the subcultural zeitgeist of 924 gilman in the 90s. photoethnography is a newly aquainted relative field to me, although apparently i;ve been doing it 4 years.
